Categories: New Artist, Wall Art

Val’s art has received international acclaim. Her creative influence comes from the famous Impressionist artists, and her art has been recognized with awards in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, and the United States.  Her fine art illustrations have been featured in children’s books, an award-winning cowboy poetry book, and a clothing and accessory line.

“I ready myself to put the paintbrush to canvas and tingle with anticipation as the mystery of creation tantalizes me. This feeling is always present in me as I’m sure it was with the impressionists who have influenced me. The unifying element that gives shape to the subjects of my paintings comes from my fascination with texture.” – Val Moker

Val has degrees in education and arts from the University of Saskatchewan. In addition to her work as a professional artist, she has taught art in the education system and has created art & culture lesson plans for Learning Through the Arts, a structured curriculum development program of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Val continued studies at the New York Metropolitan Museum.
