Dean was born and raised in Saskatchewan, where he still resides today. His wonderment of the natural world began at a very young age. A childhood filled with camping expeditions across the prairies and beyond helped to instill the deep appreciation that he holds for our natural world and its preservation.

Landscape and nature photography has enriched his life in countless ways; his self-taught exploration with the camera has brought him back full circle to the joys of his childhood, magically combining his love of nature and the creation of art.
