Raised on the prairies, Craig Hilts developed a passion for storms after a close call with a bolt of lightning as a child. This love of storms and some fateful events led him to start pursuing storm chasing. It was during these early years of self-teaching that Hilts discovered his love for photography and its unparalleled ability to capture fleeting once-in-a-lifetime moments.
Hilts embarked on his photographic journey with a deep desire to capture the unique beauty in a prairie storm and share it with the world. Armed with his camera and an unyielding determination, he sets out each year usually driving over 30,000km in pursuit of storms, the northern lights and incredible natural moments.
