KEITH KERRIGAN HAIDA ARTIST

Booth #: 909
Categories: Decor, Jewellery, Wood

Keith is a jeweller who works mostly with traditional Haida images and designs. These designs are his own and at times are inspired by works of other contemporary Indigenous artists and historic mostly unnamed artists.

Keith was born into a family of artists and has always been surrounded by Haida art. His father, born in England, was an oil painter. Having these influences in his family gave him the perspective to always consider what was possible as an artist.

Keith works in silver and gold and has also done some wood carving and painting. The tradition of Haida’s design is a complex system that he is studying and learning from. He is also inspired by the work of contemporary or “western” artists working in jewellery and other genres.

A large focus of his work is custom designs and commissions for his clients, and he challenges himself to seek new ways of executing his designs and welcomes discussions from clients, other artists, and members of the public about what may be possible in his work.
